Brown Alumina

EuroBlastTech brown alumina is an artificial corundum abrasive made from high-quality bauxite through high-temperature smelting. Features high hardness (Mohs 9), good toughness, sharp particles, and strong cutting power. Widely used in steel structure rust removal, casting cleaning, surface roughening and other processes, it is one of the mainstream abrasives in industrial sand blasting.

FAQ

What's the difference between brown alumina and steel shot?
Brown alumina is a ceramic abrasive with higher hardness (Mohs 9), suitable for pneumatic blasting; steel shot is a metal abrasive suitable for shot blasting machines. Brown alumina has strong cutting power but fewer recycling times.
How to choose the right mesh size?
Smaller mesh number (e.g. 14#) means larger particles with high cutting efficiency but rough surface; larger mesh number (e.g. 100#) means finer particles with fine surface but lower efficiency. Generally use 24#-36# for steel structure rust removal, 60#-80# for precision parts.
Can brown alumina be recycled?
Yes, but with limited times (generally 3-5 times). It gradually breaks down and becomes finer during use, requiring regular replenishment of new material and dust screening.
