FAQ

What's the difference between steel grit and steel shot?
Steel grits are angular particles with strong cutting power, suitable for rust removal and roughening; steel shots are spherical particles for surface strengthening and cleaning. Steel grit has higher hardness (HRC 55-65), while steel shot has moderate hardness (HRC 40-50).
Why is steel grit harder than steel shot?
Steel grit needs stronger cutting capability to remove stubborn rust and old coatings, hence higher hardness (HRC 55-65). High hardness keeps particles sharp and angular, but slightly reduces service life.
How to choose steel grit size?
Larger size gives higher cutting efficiency but rougher finish; smaller size gives finer treatment. For heavy structural steel rust removal, SG1.0-SG2.0 recommended; for thin plate surface treatment, SG0.3-SG0.7 recommended.
